The procedures followed in decision-making process are in accordance with the SAFEMA /NDPS Act and the rules made thereunder as mentioned against column No.5 below. Channels of supervision and accountability are given in  Annex 3.

The employees are discharging their functions as per Charter of Duties prescribed for them. A copy of the same is enclosed as Annex 4.

Besides the normal rules/ instructions issued by the Government from time to time, the Tribunal makes use of ATFP Procedure Rules, 1986 made under SAFEMA; ATFP (Procedure) Rules, 1989 made under NDPS; ATFP (Conditions of Service of Chairman and Members) Rules, 1978 made under SAFEMA; and ATFP (Conditions of Service of Chairman and Members) Rules, 1989 made under NDPS.  Copies of the said Rules are enclosed as Annex 5A, 5B, 5C and 5D respectively.

No special documents are held. Judicial files pertaining to appeals and petitions and administrative files pertaining to day-to-day administration & establishment matters of the office are maintained.

The particulars of any arrangement that exists for consultation with or representation by the members of the public in relation to the formulation of policy or implementation thereof.

The hearings of appeals and allied matters are normally conducted by three Members Bench. The hearings are held in open Court, which is accessible to general public.
